Yvonne creates individual handcrafted pieces of textile art by various wet felting techniques using wool, silk, and plant fibres.  Her work includes beautiful lightweight Nuno felted scarves and wraps, garments, gossamer scarves, brooches, handbags, vases and vessels, as well as landscapes, and abstract wall art..

Her inspiration is wide and varied, ranging from traditional ethnic art and the history of costume to the beautiful landscape which surrounds her, especially aspects of colour and texture in nature as seen in the North Yorkshire countryside where she lives and works.

Yvonne delights in both the feltmaking process and the basic natural ingredients and is captivated by the transformation from humble fleece to sophisticated textile using only water, soap and friction.

The possibilities are endless – especially for garments: from casual to bridal, light and delicate to structured and solid.
